SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3
learn of the death of Sergeant Jason McLeod of Crystal Lake, 
4
who was killed in a mortar attack while serving in Pashmul, 
5
Afghanistan on November 23, 2009; and
  
 
6
    WHEREAS, He was born September 16, 1987, in Elgin, to 
7
Gregory McLeod and Barb McLeod, nee Hanke; in 2006, he 
8
graduated from Crystal Lake Central High School; and
  
 
9
    WHEREAS, On July 10, 2007, he was united in marriage to 
10
Aimee Rambo; and
  
 
11
    WHEREAS, He enjoyed football, hockey, RC cars, and working 
12
on cars; and

  
 
13
    WHEREAS, Sergeant Jason McLeod is survived by his wife, 
14
Aimee McLeod; his daughter, Jocelyn Elizabeth McLeod; his 
15
mother, Barb McLeod; his father, Gregory McLeod; his brother, 
16
Justin; his sister, Jacquee; his mother-in-law, Julie Ghannam; 
17
his brothers-in-law, Andrew Graf and Daniel Escobar; his 
18
maternal grandmother, Marion Hanke; his paternal grandparents, 
19
Denny and Sandra Williams; his paternal great-grandparents, 
20
Charlie and Mable Kariya; and his many aunts, uncles, cousins, 
21
and good friends; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
2
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
3
his friends, family, and a grateful nation, the passing of 
4
Sergeant Jason McLeod; and be it further
  
 
5
    RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of Sergeant Jason McLeod 
6
and his willingness to serve his country, which led to him 
7
making the ultimate sacrifice; and be it further
 
8
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9
presented to the family of Sergeant Jason McLeod as a symbol of 
10
our sincere sympathy.
