SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3
learn of the death of Frank Blumenshine of Creve Coeur, who 
4
passed away on October 20, 2009; and
  
 
5
    WHEREAS, He was born April 16, 1961, in Peoria to Gail and 
6
Virginia June (Southey) Blumenshine; he married Johnnie 
7
Schmidt on June 6, 1981; and
  
 
8
    WHEREAS, He was loved by almost everyone he came into 
9
contact with; he was a loving and caring son, brother, father, 
10
grandpa, and friend; and
  
 
11
    WHEREAS, He worked for the American Red Cross for the last 
12
20 years, starting in Peoria then transferring to Columbia, 
13
Missouri the last few years; and
  
 
14
    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his 
15
stepfather, Robert J. Zelenda; his brother, Gail Blumenshine; 
16
and his sister, Patty Blumenshine; and
  
 
17
    WHEREAS, Frank Blumenshine is survived by his son, Sean 
18
(Christina) Blumenshine; his brothers, Walt Blumenshine, Steve 
19
(Tammy) Blumenshine, and Robert (Julie) Zelenda; his grandson, 
20
Stephen Blumenshine; his granddaughter, Autumn Blumenshine;

and his wonderful roommate and confidant, Carrie Friend; 
2
therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
4
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
5
his family and friends, the passing of Frank Blumenshine; and 
6
be it further
  
 
7
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8
presented to the family of Frank Blumenshine as a symbol of our 
9
sincere sympathy.
