| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of Donald J. Lahey of Round Lake, who passed |
| 4 |
| away on June 22, 2009; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born on February 14, 1933 in Waukegan to |
| 6 |
| Margaret and James Lahey; he graduated from Warren High School |
| 7 |
| and enlisted in the United States Army thereafter; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, After his time of service, he worked at the Great |
| 9 |
| Lakes Naval Base as a maintenance electrician where he met his |
| 10 |
| wife, Sheila (nee, Gesford); he joined IBEW Local #150 |
| 11 |
| Electrical Union in 1964 and retired in 1995; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, He was an enthusiastic golfer and bowler, an avid |
| 13 |
| reader, and a semi-enthusiastic Cubs, Bears, and Hawks fan; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, |
| 15 |
| Sheila Anne Lahey; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, He is survived by his children, Steven (Patti) |
| 17 |
| Lahey, Dale (Angelo) Caliendo, Susan (William) Ryan, and Daniel |
| 18 |
| (Lidia) Lahey; his sister, Phyllis (John) Elsbury; his |
| 19 |
| brothers, Richard (Pamela) Lahey and Leonard Lahey; his |
| 20 |
| grandchildren, Christopher Lahey, Steven Amann, Christina |
