SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3
learn of the death of Rose Marie Cushman of Geneva, who passed 
4
away on July 1, 2009; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Rose Marie Cushman was born on October 23, 1955 in 
6
Lima, Ohio; her parents were Phyllis and Henry Dietrich; she 
7
was baptized on November 13, 1955 at Zion Lutheran Church in 
8
Schumm, Ohio and confirmed on March 22, 1970 at Immanuel Church 
9
in Lima, Ohio; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, Rose Marie Cushman graduated from Bowling Green 
11
State University with a bachelor's degree in interior design in 
12
1978; she then moved to Chicago to begin her professional 
13
career; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, Rose Marie Cushman married her loving husband, 
15
Gary, at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Chicago on 
16
September 26, 1981; they lived in Chicago before moving to 
17
Geneva in 1986; and

 
18
    WHEREAS, Rose Marie Cushman enjoyed working at the Chicago 
19
Merchandise Mart; and

 
20
    WHEREAS, Rose Marie Cushman is survived by her husband,

Gary Cushman; her daughter, Sarah Cushman; her mother, Phyllis 
2
Dietrich; and her sisters, Deborah (Mark) Williams and Lynda 
3
(Stephen) Richards; and

    WHEREAS, Rose Marie Cushman will be remembered by all who 
5
knew and loved her as a natural fighter and optimist, whose 
6
concern for others was sincere; therefore, be it

 
7
    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
8
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that  we mourn, along with 
9
her family and friends, the passing of Rose Marie Cushman; and 
10
be it further

 
11
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12
presented to the family of Rose Marie Cushman as an expression 
13
of our sympathy.
