SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3
learn of the death of William F. "Bill" Bort of Carlinville, 
4
who passed away on May 13, 2009; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, William F. "Bill" Bort was born June 7, 1967, in 
6
Alton, the son of Bruce and Irene (Campbell) Bort; he married 
7
Mary Lewey in East Alton on August 25, 1989, at St. Kevin's 
8
Catholic Church; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, After college he became a radio announcer for WSMI 
10
in Carlinville, working there until 1990; he then started his 
11
career in law enforcement with the Macoupin County Sheriff's 
12
Department; he also worked for the Bunker Hill, Brighton, and 
13
Carlinville police departments; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, He and his wife  ran Music Tracks DJ service from 
15
1989 to 2007; he was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and 
16
the Carlinville Elks Lodge #1412, where he was a past trustee; 
17
and

 
18
    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his infant brother, 
19
Bruce Christopher Bort; and

 
20
    WHEREAS, William Bort is survived by his wife, Mary; his

daughter, Kasie C. Bort; his son, Kyle W. Bort; his parents, 
2
Bruce and Irene Bort; his sisters, Barbara A. Bort and Jaime 
3
Kraut (Andrew); his nephew; and his nieces; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
5
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
6
his family and friends, the passing of William F. "Bill" Bort; 
7
and be it further

 
8
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9
presented to the family of William F. "Bill" Bort as a symbol 
10
of our sincere sympathy.
