SENATE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3
learn of the death of John Bloomfield "J.B." Ryan, of 
4
Carlinville, who passed away on May 5, 2009; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, He was born May 19, 1928, in Carlinville, the son 
6
of Richard and Angela Bloomfield Ryan; he married Betty Ann 
7
Nester on July 8, 1950, at St. Mary's Church; and

 
8
    WHEREAS, Mr. Ryan was a United States Army veteran of the 
9
Korean War, retiring as a sergeant first class; he worked for 
10
Kufa and Son for several years and retired from the Illinois 
11
Secretary of State's driver services in 1991; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, He was a member of the Carlinville Elks Lodge, 
13
John L. Meyer VFW, and Guy Baird American Legion Post; he 
14
coached Carlinville Little League for over 20 years and was an 
15
avid Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and Notre Dame football fan; 
16
and

 
17
    WHEREAS,
He was preceded in death by his parents; his 
18
brother, Richard Ryan; his sister, Rosemary Hoelting; and his 
19
grandson, Matthew James Ryan; and

 
20
    WHEREAS, John Bloomfield "J.B." Ryan is survived by his

wife, Betty; his sons, Patrick Ryan, Mike (wife, Beth) Ryan, 
2
Tim (wife, Sheri) Ryan, and Dan Ryan; his daughter, Peggy 
3
(husband, Todd) Egizii; his 12 grandchildren; and his several 
4
nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

 
5
    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
6
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
7
his family and friends, the passing of John Bloomfield "J.B." 
8
Ryan; and be it further

 
9
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10
presented to the family of John Bloomfield "J.B." Ryan as a 
11
symbol of our sincere sympathy.
