| AN ACT concerning education.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The University of Illinois Scientific Surveys |
| 5 |
| Act is amended by changing Section 999 as follows:
|

| 7 |
| Sec. 999. Effective date; validation. This Act takes effect |
| 8 |
| on July 1, 2008. All actions taken by the Board of Trustees of |
| 9 |
| the University of Illinois and by the officers, employees, and |
| 10 |
| agents of the University of Illinois under this Act on or after |
| 11 |
| July 1, 2008 and before the effective date of this amendatory |
| 12 |
| Act of the 96th General Assembly are hereby ratified, |
| 13 |
| validated, and confirmed as valid and lawful acts by the Board |
| 14 |
| of Trustees of the University of Illinois and by the officers, |
| 15 |
| employees, and agents of the University of Illinois. This |
| 16 |
| Section and Section 998 take effect on July 1, 2008. The other |
| 17 |
| provisions of this Act take effect on July 1, 2008 or on the |
| 18 |
| date the transfer from the General Revenue Fund to the |
| 19 |
| University of Illinois Income Fund is made as required by |
| 20 |
| Section 8o of the State Finance Act, whichever is later.
