AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3415

    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3415 on page 1, by 
3
inserting immediately below line 5 the following:

    "Section 5. Employee notification of mold remediation. 
5
    (a) A business owner or a representative of the business 
6
owner shall provide notification, including a scheduled date 
7
and timeframe, prior to any mold remediation activities of 
8
areas measuring 30 square feet or more to all affected 
9
employees in the building where the remediation is being 
10
conducted. Notification to employees may be done in writing or 
11
by posting in a conspicuous and accessible location.

    (b) It is recommended that an industrial hygienist or other 
13
trained environmental health and safety professional is 
14
consulted prior to remediation activities and that parties 
15
providing mold remediation services are registered 
16
professionals.

    (c)  Once mold remediation is complete, a business owner or

a representative of the business owner shall provide

notification of the completed action that was taken to remedy 
3
the mold issue to all affected employees in the building where 
4
the remediation was being conducted. Notification to employees 
5
may be done in writing or by posting in a conspicuous and

accessible location.".
