| 1 |  |     AN ACT concerning regulation.
 | 
| 2 |  |     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
  | 
| 3 |  | represented in the General Assembly:
 | 
| 4 |  |     Section 5. The Environmental Health Practitioner Licensing  | 
| 5 |  | Act is amended  by changing Section 30 as follows:

| 7 |  |     (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2019)
 | 
| 8 |  |     Sec. 30. Endorsement. The Department may issue a license as  | 
| 9 |  | a licensed
environmental health practitioner, without the  | 
| 10 |  | required examination, to an
applicant licensed under the laws  | 
| 11 |  | of another state if the requirements for
licensure in that  | 
| 12 |  | state are, on the date of granting the license, substantially
 | 
| 13 |  | equal to the requirements of this Act.  The Department shall  | 
| 14 |  | issue a license as a licensed environmental health practitioner  | 
| 15 |  | to any applicant who holds a Registered Environmental Health  | 
| 16 |  | Specialist/Registered Sanitarian credential in good standing  | 
| 17 |  | with the National Environmental Health Association. An  | 
| 18 |  | applicant under this Section shall
pay all required fees.   | 
| 19 |  | Applicants have 3 years from the date of application to
 | 
| 20 |  | complete the application process.  If the process has not been  | 
| 21 |  | completed within
3 years, the application shall be denied, the  | 
| 22 |  | fee forfeited, and the applicant
must reapply and meet the  | 
| 23 |  | requirements in effect at the time of reapplication.
