| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |

| represented in the General Assembly:

| Section 5. The Criminal Code of 1961 is amended by changing
|

| Section 2-7 as follows:
|

| (720 ILCS 5/2-7) (from Ch. 38, par. 2-7)

| Sec. 2-7. "Felony".
"Felony" means an an offense for which |

| a sentence to death or to a term of
imprisonment in a |
| 9 |
| penitentiary for one year or more is provided.
