AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 647




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 647 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
4    "Section 5. The Task Force on Higher Education Private 
5Student Loans is amended  by changing Sections 1, 20, 25, and 90 
6as follows:
 
7    (110 ILCS 982/1)
8    (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2011)

9    Sec. 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the Task 
10Force on Higher Education Private Student Loans Act.

14    Sec. 20. Task Force assistance.  
15    (a) The Office of the Illinois Student Assistance

1Commission shall be responsible for administrative and 
2logistical support of the Task Force on Higher Education 
3Private Student Loans, including coordination of Task Force 
4member appointments, distribution of meeting notices and 
5minutes, coordination of meeting logistics, facilitation of 
6public meetings, and the drafting and filing of the report 
7under Section 25 of this Act.  Task Force members or staff 
8liaisons or both may confer and collaborate with relevant State 
9and national organizations with expertise.

10    (b)  It is the expectation of the General Assembly that 
11institutions of higher learning in this State comply with 
12reasonable requests from the Task Force on Higher Education 
13Private Student Loans or its support staff for aggregated data 
14relevant to the purposes of the Task Force.

18    Sec. 25. Report; dissolution of Task Force.   The Task Force 
19on Higher Education Private Student Loans shall report its 
20findings and recommendations to the General Assembly by filing 
21copies of its report by December 31, 2011 2010 as provided in 
22Section 3.1 of the General Assembly Organization Act.  Upon 
23filing this report the Task Force is dissolved.
