AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 146

    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 146 on page 3, by

replacing lines 4 and 5 with the following:

    "(d) Notwithstanding any other provision of this Section, a 
5
person or entity may not telephone or cause to be"; and
 
6
on page 3, by replacing lines 11 and 12 with the following:

"candidate for a State or local office, unless such message 
8
includes the statement: "paid for" or "sponsored by","; and
 
9
on page 3, by inserting immediately below line 25 the 
10
following:

    "A violation of this subsection is subject to a fine 
12
assessed by the State Board of Elections.".
