HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the 
4Scales Mound High School Lady Hornets volleyball team on the 
5occasion of the team's spectacular season; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, After an impressive victory in the Oregon 
7tournament, subsequent hard-fought victories during the State 
8tournament, and a victory against Springfield Lutheran in the 
9semifinals, the Scales Mound Lady Hornets faced off against 
10Heyworth for the championship; after a 25-22 victory in the 
11first game and a 18-25 loss in the second game, the match was 
12sent into a tie-breaker game; after a hard-fought battle, the 
13Lady Hornets narrowly lost to Heyworth 26-24 to claim second 
14place at the IHSA Class 1A State Tournament; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, The Scales Mound High School Lady Hornets' 
16impressive performance earned the school its biggest trophy in 
17history; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, The members of the Scales Mound High School Lady 
19Hornets are Stephanie Jerry, Ashley Brant, Alex Korte, Lauren 
20Winter, Nicole Winter, Whitney Kieffer, Emily Stier, Courtney 
21Busch, and Nikki DuBord; the team's manager is Alison Hillary; 
22the team's head coach is Angie Winter and the assistant coaches

1are Keri Werner, Hannah Wiegel, and Joy Ertmer; and

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Scales Mound High School Lady 
3Hornets serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication 
4for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
6NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
7congratulate the Scales Mound High School Lady Hornets 
8volleyball team on their spectacular season and wish them 
9continued success and happiness in the future; and be it

11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to Lady Hornets volleyball head coach Angie Winter as 
13a symbol of our esteem and respect.
