HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Randall 
4"Randy" Sherman, who recently passed away; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, He was the beloved son of Charlene, (nee, Weller) 
6and Leonard Skora, and the late Irving Sherman; the dear 
7brother of Craig Sherman and Lori Sherman (Timothy) Fentem; the 
8step-brother of David (Lorrie Woos) Skora and Thomas (Margie) 
9Skora; and the fond uncle of Lee Sherman, Zachary Fentem, 
10Ashlyn Fentem, Samuel Skora, Sydney Skora, and Steve Skora; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, He had earned an undergraduate degree in 
12Journalism from the Northwestern Medill School of Journalism 
13and a Master's degree from the University of Missouri; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, He was active in cable television and he  was a 
15volunteer for, and the newsletter editor of, the Vietnam 
16Veterans Post in DesPlaines; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, He was a long-time philatelist and had a passion 
18for collecting stamps from throughout the world, and throughout 
19history; he was the Secretary and Treasurer of Compex 2000, the 
20largest stamp show in the world; and was the Secretary and an 
21active member of the Chicago Philatelic Society; and

1    WHEREAS, He believed in the role of government and public 
2officials and the positive effect that they should have on 
3individuals' lives, and as such, he was the co-founder and 
4Secretary-Treasurer of the Illinois Coalition for Honest 
5Government; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
7NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
8mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of 
9Randall Sherman; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of Randall Sherman as a symbol of our 
12sincere sympathy.
