HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Mater Dei High 
4School Girls Volleyball Team, the Knights, on winning the 
5Illinois Class 3A State Championship; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Mater Dei, ranked number 26 in the country by 
7prepvolleyball.com, finished the season with a 21-match 
8winning streak and a 41-1 record; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, The team lost the first game to Joliet Catholic 
10but came back to win the next 2 games, giving them the school's 
11sixth State championship, the first one since 2001; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, The Knights had tried previously to beat Joliet 
13Catholic in 2005, 2008, and 2009; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, The Varsity Coach is Fred Rakers and the Assistant 
15Coach is Chad Rakers; the manager is Jamie Voss; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, The members of the Mater Dei Volleyball Team are: 
17Samantha Bedard, Alison Mueller, Brooke Schulte, Abbey Winter, 
18Alyssa Hitpas, Nicole Strieker, Kayla Eversgerd, Kaley 
19Boeckmann, Mallory Mensing, Ashley Rakers, Chelsea Crocker, 
20Alison Lampen, Abby Luebbers, Bailey Kampwerth, and Emily

1Koelling; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
3NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
4congratulate the Mater Dei High School Girls Volleyball Team on 
5winning the Illinois Class 3A State Championship and wish them 
6continued success in the future; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the Mater Dei High School Girls Volleyball Team as 
9a symbol of our respect and esteem.
