| 4 | | Horstman of Belleville, who passed away on October 17, 2010; |

| 6 | | WHEREAS, Verna Horstman was employed as a Juvenile Officer |
| 7 | | for the Belleville Police Department and the City of |
| 8 | | Belleville; she also worked as a fraud investigator for William |
| 9 | | C. Scott and as a secretary for School District #189 in East |
| 10 | | St. Louis; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Verna Horstman was a member of St. George |
| 12 | | Episcopal Church; she served as a volunteer at Memorial |
| 13 | | Hospital; she was also an avid Republican and a member of the |
| 14 | | Republican Women's Club; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Verna Horstman was preceded in death by her |
| 16 | | husband, William P. Horstman; her parents, Jesse C. and Mary |
| 17 | | P., nee Mayer, Nichols; her brothers, Bill Nichols, Jesse "Jit" |
| 18 | | Nichols, and Raymond Nichols; and her first husband, Eugene P. |
| 19 | | Clayton; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Verna Horstman is survived by her children, Thomas |
| 21 | | Clayton, Jana Riggins, Michael Horstman, James (Sue) Horstman, |
