| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened by the death of
Stephen T. "Tee" |
| 4 | | Hynes, who passed away on December 11, 1989; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Stephen Hynes joined the United States Navy on May |
| 6 | | 16, 1960, where he served until his honorable discharge in |
| 7 | | January of 1964; and |
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Stephen Hynes had a long and distinguished career |
| 9 | | with the State of Illinois; he began his career in 1972 at the |
| 10 | | Lincoln Developmental Institute; he subsequently worked as a |
| 11 | | prison guard at Stateville Correctional Center and the Illinois |
| 12 | | State Psychiatric Institute; he served as the chief operating |
| 13 | | engineer of the State of Illinois Center from October 1, 1983 |
| 14 | | to December 11, 1989; he is credited with contributing greatly |
| 15 | | to the correction of the Center's many initial heating and |
| 16 | | air-conditioning flaws and helping the Center run more |
| 17 | | smoothly; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, During his career, Stephen Hynes was employed as |
| 19 | | an operating engineer at the Chicago Police Department, the |
| 20 | | filtration plant, and the State of Illinois; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Stephen Hynes was an unsuccessful candidate for |
