HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Ian Seivwright on 
4the occasion of his retirement as Deputy Chief of the Western 
5Springs Fire Department after 50 years of dedicated service; 
6and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Ian Seivwright has been a life-long resident of 
8Western Springs; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Ian Seivwright's service to the Western Springs 
10Fire Department began as a student at McClure Junior High 
11School; after hearing the alarm bells go off at the firehouse, 
12he would often jump out the window of the school and scurry to 
13the firehouse to either watch or tag along; he later joined the 
14department as a full-time member and ascended the ranks to 
15become Deputy Chief, where he served until his retirement; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Ian Seivwright has served his country as an 
17officer in the United States Navy in the late 1960s and early 
181970s, where he distinguished himself in his service with the 
19Pacific fleet; he subsequently began and completed a long and 
20successful career with the People's Gas Company, retiring as 
21the director of the company's security operations; and

1    WHEREAS, Following his retirement, Ian Seivwright plans to 
2move to Phoenix, Arizona, where he can bask in the sun and 
3reflect upon the many accomplishments in his life; therefore, 
4be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
6NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
7congratulate Ian Seivwright on the occasion of his retirement 
8and wish him many happy and healthy retirement years; and be it 
9further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to Ian Seivwright as a symbol of our esteem and 
12respect.
