| 4 | | Record of Mattoon, who passed away on June 20, 2010; and

| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jack Record was born on June 1, 1930; he was the |
| 6 | | son of Charles and Nora Blanche (Morris) Record; he married |
| 7 | | Joan Welsh on October 3, 1953; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Jack Record graduated from Mattoon High School in |
| 9 | | 1949; he served his country with pride and distinction as a |
| 10 | | member of the United States Marine Corps during the Korean |
| 11 | | Conflict; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Jack Record was self-employed as the |
| 13 | | owner-operator of the Dairy Queen in Charleston, Illinois; he |
| 14 | | was later employed by the Veterans Administration and the |
| 15 | | Illinois Department of Transportation until his retirement in |
| 16 | | 2000; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Jack Record was a member of the Immaculate |
| 18 | | Conception Roman Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the |
| 19 | | American Legion, the VFW, the Mattoon Letterman's Club, and the |
| 20 | | Mattoon High School Hall of Fame; he served on the Coles County |
| 21 | | Board, the Embarras River Basin Agency, and the Coles County |
