HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Robert Coleman on 
4
his retirement from the Morris Fire Department; and
  
 
5
    WHEREAS, He was born and raised in Morris, and served in 
6
the National Guard; and
  
 
7
    WHEREAS, He joined  the Fire Department in 1960, and served 
8
the department as a part-time Chief for 33 of his 50 years; in 
9
addition, he is also the City of Morris Fire Marshal; his 
10
father was also a Morris firefighter; and
 
11
    WHEREAS, During his tenure the Morris Fire Department  has 
12
evolved from a volunteer to a paid on call to a paid on 
13
premises Fire Department; and
  
 
14
    WHEREAS, He has also been a real estate broker his entire 
15
professional career and currently has ownership in 
16
Coleman-Hornsby Century 21; and
  
 
17
    WHEREAS, He serves on the Joliet Junior College fire 
18
science advisory council and was instrumental in establishing 
19
the  Grundy County Vocational Center Fire Science program, 
20
established in 2009; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3
congratulate Robert Coleman on his retirement, thank him for 
4
his service, and wish him the best in all his future endeavors; 
5
and be it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7
presented to Robert Coleman as a symbol of our respect and 
8
esteem.
