HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Mamie Lee Clemons 
4
on the occasion of her 80th birthday on February 27, 2010; and
  
 
5
    WHEREAS, Mamie Lee Clemons was born to Essie Mae and 
6
Roosevelt Patterson on February 27, 1930, in Birmingham, 
7
Alabama; and
  
 
8
    WHEREAS, Mamie Lee Clemons was employed as a domestic in 
9
her earlier years and worked for Sears in Chicago for several 
10
years until her retirement; and
  
 
11
    WHEREAS, Mamie Lee Clemons is an elder and recognized 
12
Mother at the Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago; 
13
and
  
 
14
    WHEREAS, Mamie Lee Clemons married Lonzell Clemons 
15
(deceased); she had 10 children, Doris (deceased), Lorenzo, 
16
Patricia Ann, Esther Mae, Ronald, Donald (deceased), Samuel, 
17
Sharon Marie, Herman, and Theresa Ann; she also has 26 
18
grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, 35 
19
great-great-grandchildren, and many godchildren; and
  
 
20
    WHEREAS, Mamie Lee Clemons is well known for her kind and

loving nature and her passion for people; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
3
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
4
congratulate Mamie Lee Clemons on the occasion of her 80th 
5
birthday and wish her many happy and healthy years to come; and 
6
be it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8
presented to Mamie Lee Clemons as a symbol of our esteem and 
9
respect.
