HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to recognize the members of the 
4
Chicago Ice Theatre for their great work in blending figure 
5
skating, theater, and dance; and
  
 
6
    WHEREAS, The Chicago Ice Theatre (CIT) is an affiliate of 
7
the Theatre On Ice (TOI), a form of competitive figure skating 
8
that is popular in Europe; TOI combines the grace of figure 
9
skating with the excitement of theater and dance; TOI programs 
10
are judged by U.S. Figure Skating judges and are evaluated on 
11
technical merit and presentation with emphasis on originality, 
12
costuming, artistry, and musicality; and
  
 
13
    WHEREAS, The Chicago Ice Theatre has participated in 
14
numerous TOI events; the CIT placed 4th in the national 
15
standings and 3rd in the international standings in the 2009 
16
Dancing with the Stars Above event; the team placed 3rd in the 
17
national standings and 4th in the international standings in 
18
the 2009 A League of Their Own event; the team earned the gold 
19
medal at the 2007 Stomp event; the team also earned the Gold 
20
National medal and the Silver International medal at the 2008 
21
Chiller event; and

    WHEREAS, The members of the Chicago Ice Theatre serve as

models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people 
2
of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
5
recognize the members of the Chicago Ice Theatre and wish them 
6
continued success and happiness in the future; and be it 
7
further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9
presented to the Chicago Ice Theatre as a symbol of our esteem 
10
and respect.
