HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of  
3
Representatives are pleased to honor Sharon Smith for her many 
4
years of service with the Frisbie Senior Center in Des Plaines; 
5
and
  
 
6
    WHEREAS, Sharon Smith served as Director of the Frisbie 
7
Senior Center in Des Plaines for 17 years, beginning in 1993; 
8
and
  
 
9
    WHEREAS, During her tenure at the Frisbie Senior Center, 
10
Sharon Smith was responsible for numerous improvements and 
11
additions to the center, including the creation of the Senior 
12
Advisory Council, the balancing of the center's budget, the 
13
creation of numerous sponsorships for many of the center's 
14
programs, increases in the center's membership, the overhaul of 
15
the center's senior bulletin, and the streamlining of numerous 
16
services and activities; and
  
 
17
    WHEREAS, Sharon Smith will be remembered fondly by the 
18
employees and patrons of the Frisbie Senior Center for her 
19
cleverness and wit, as well as her inspired leadership and 
20
genuine compassion for the needs of the center's many visitors; 
21
therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3
honor Sharon Smith for her many years of service with the 
4
Frisbie Senior Center and wish her continued success and 
5
happiness in the future; and be it further
  
 
6
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7
presented to Sharon Smith as a symbol of our esteem and 
8
respect.
