| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |

| Representatives are pleased to congratulate Ernestine Evon |

| Howard Rives of East St. Louis on her 80th birthday; and

| WHEREAS, She was born and raised in East St. Louis; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Her family has made contributions to the East St. |
| 7 |
| Louis community dating back to the riots for civil rights; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, She has created a new paradigm for care giving, |
| 9 |
| meals on wheels, all brand greeting cards and jeweled gifts for |
| 10 |
| those in need of comfort during illness, mourning, or |
| 11 |
| celebration; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Ernestine has two children, Denis AM Davis |
| 13 |
| McFarlin and Reginald Davis; many grandchildren and |
| 14 |
| great-grandchildren; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Her encouraging remark, "Do the best you can", and |

| a thundering laugh and sense of humor will always be her |
