| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |

| Representatives are pleased to congratulate Daniel Vanek of Boy |
| 4 |
| Scout Troop 297 on the occasion of attaining the coveted rank |
| 5 |
| of Eagle Scout; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, To achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, Daniel Vanek |
| 7 |
| created a bioswale at Vogelei Park with the help of the Hoffman |
| 8 |
| Estates Park District; the bioswale was designed to clean |
| 9 |
| runoff water from a nearby parking lot before entering a nearby |
| 10 |
| pond; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, The project was completed on July 27, 2008 with |
| 12 |
| the help of over 50 volunteers in just four hours and was |
| 13 |
| funded from donations from over 50 local businesses; the |
| 14 |
| project reduced pollutants in the pond by 50%; as a result of |
| 15 |
| his hard work, the Hoffman Estates Park District honored Daniel |
| 16 |
| with a "Best of Hoffman" award for his efforts; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout was bestowed upon Daniel |
| 18 |
| Vanek by the Boy Scouts of America at a Court of Honor ceremony |
| 19 |
| on November 13, 2009; and
|
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, Daniel Vanek serves as a model of hard work, |
| 21 |
| integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of |
