| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION

| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Scott Lennon on the | ||||||
| 4 | occasion of winning the Charles E. Piper Award from the Berwyn | ||||||
| 5 | Development Corporation on November 7, 2009; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Originally from Harvey, Scott Lennon has lived in | ||||||
| 7 | the Chicagoland area his entire life, spending time in | ||||||
| 8 | Flossmoor, Chicago, Barrington, Island Lake, and Portage, | ||||||
| 9 | Indiana before settling in the South Berwyn Depot District in | ||||||
| 10 | 2002; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Scott Lennon has served as an Area Operations | ||||||
| 12 | Manager at Pitney Bowes Legal Solutions for the past 9 years; | ||||||
| 13 | during his tenure, the company has benefited greatly from his | ||||||
| 14 | acute managerial skills and creative business strategies, | ||||||
| 15 | which have propelled him to his current position; in 2004, Mr. | ||||||
| 16 | Lennon was awarded the national level "ALL STARS" award in | ||||||
| 17 | recognition of his excellence in business performance, budget | ||||||
| 18 | management, client relations, and employee satisfaction | ||||||
| 19 | scores; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Prior to his tenure at Pitney Bowes, Scott Lennon | ||||||
| 21 | was employed at Kemper Securities Inc. from 1983 until 2000; | ||||||
| 22 | his hard work and dedication at Kemper Securities enabled him | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | to reach the position of Vice President of Operations and win | ||||||
| 2 | Kemper's "Consistency of Excellence Award", the company's top | ||||||
| 3 | achievement; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Scott Lennon has been a volunteer in numerous | ||||||
| 5 | community organizations; he has been active in the Berwyn | ||||||
| 6 | Development Corporation's Historic Depot District Special | ||||||
| 7 | Events Committee, Marketing Committee, New Business Task | ||||||
| 8 | Force, City of Berwyn "Why Berwyn?" Integrated Marketing | ||||||
| 9 | Campaign, and Outreach Program Booths; he is also a board | ||||||
| 10 | member of Bungalo and a member of the Democratic Citizens of | ||||||
| 11 | Berwyn; and | ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Scott Lennon enjoys traveling, spending time with | ||||||
| 13 | his family and friends, meeting new people, and spending time | ||||||
| 14 | in the eclectic and diverse nature of the City of Berwyn and | ||||||
| 15 | its residents; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Scott Lennon will receive his award during the | ||||||
| 17 | Charles E. Piper Award dinner, which will be held on November | ||||||
| 18 | 7, 2009 at the Skylite West Banquets in Berwyn; therefore, be | ||||||
| 19 | it
| ||||||
| 20 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 21 | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 22 | congratulate Scott Lennon on the occasion of winning the | ||||||

| 1 | Charles E. Piper Award and wish him continued success and | ||||||
| 2 | happiness in the future; and be it further
| ||||||
| 3 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
