HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate the congregation 
4
of the Bible Fellowship Church in Olney on the occasion of the 
5
church's 100th anniversary; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, The Bible Fellowship Church was established on 
7
July 31, 1909 as a Christian Church; the church later became a 
8
Congregational Christian Church in 1935; in 1984, the church's 
9
name was changed to Bible Fellowship Church; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, For 79 years, the Bible Fellowship Church met in a 
11
building located in downtown Olney; in 1987, the church 
12
purchased property and constructed a new building in the 
13
north-east section of Olney; the congregation began meeting in 
14
the new building in April of 1988; and

 
15
    WHEREAS, Since 1967, the Bible Fellowship Church has had an 
16
active interest in missions and has supported missionaries in 
17
many foreign countries and in various ministries within the 
18
United States; currently, Bible Fellowship supports those 
19
active in ministry in Jordan, India, Papua New Guinea, and 
20
Russia; and

    WHEREAS, The congregation of the Bible Fellowship Church

celebrated the church's 100th anniversary with a special 
2
service on September 20, 2009; therefore, be it

 
3
    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
5
congratulate the congregation of the Bible Fellowship Church on 
6
the occasion of the church's 100th anniversary of service to 
7
the people of Olney; and be it further

 
8
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9
presented to Brady Farr, Pastor of Bible Fellowship Church, as 
10
a symbol of our respect and esteem.
