HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The Illinois House of Representatives seeks to 
3
acknowledge the achievements of the State's institutions of 
4
higher learning and highlight national recognition bestowed 
5
upon them; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, Bradley University in Peoria has been named as one 
7
of the nation's best institutions for undergraduate education 
8
in the 2010 edition of The Princeton Review's "Best 371 
9
Colleges"; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, The rankings are based on 122,000 surveys from 
11
students at the 371 schools, how the students rated their 
12
campus experiences, and institutional data on issues important 
13
to applicants; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, Each school is ranked in eight categories, 
15
including admissions selectivity, quality of life, financial 
16
aid, and environmental policies and practices; and

 
17
    WHEREAS, Just 15 percent of the nation's 2,500 four-year 
18
colleges made it into the guide; and

 
19
    WHEREAS, The Princeton Review commends Bradley for its 
20
friendly students, athletic facilities, small-school

atmosphere, and devoted professors; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
3
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
4
recognize and congratulate Bradley University for receiving 
5
the distinguished honor of being named one of The Princeton 
6
Review's Best 371 Colleges for 2010; and be it further

 
7
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8
presented to President Joanne K. Glasser and the Bradley 
9
University Board of Trustees as a symbol of our esteem and 
10
respect.
