HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of 
4
Plumbers and Gasfitters U.A. Local 360 in Collinsville on the 
5
occasion of the local's 100th anniversary on June 19, 2009; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, The Plumbers and Gasfitters Local 360 started with 
7
a handful of members in East St. Louis on June 19, 1909; around 
8
15 years ago, the group moved its headquarters to Collinsville, 
9
where the local currently resides; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, The Plumbers and Gasfitters Local 360 has grown 
11
from its humble roots into a strong organization of 230 members 
12
from St. Clair and Madison Counties; and

 
13
    WHEREAS, In addition to providing a strong voice for their 
14
members and ensuring that they receive fair wages and benefits, 
15
the Plumbers and Gasfitters Local 360 also provides support to 
16
several charity organizations, including the Shriners, the 
17
Salvation Army, and the Special Olympics; and


 
18
    WHEREAS, The members of the Plumbers and Gasfitters Local 
19
360 serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for 
20
the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3
congratulate the members of Plumbers and Gasfitters U.A. Local 
4
360 in Collinsville on the occasion of the local's 100th 
5
anniversary and wish them continued success and happiness in 
6
the future; and be it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8
presented to a representative of  the Plumbers and Gasfitters 
9
Local 360 as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
