HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to acknowledge Mr. John L. Wroan 
4
III for his generous donation in providing resources for the 
5
Wroan Engineering and Technology Center; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, Illinois State University's 17th President, Al 
7
Bowman, is dedicating and naming the Wroan Engineering and 
8
Technology Center at the University High School on the campus 
9
of Illinois State University in honor of Mr. Wroan; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, The Wroan Engineering and Technology Center will 
11
provide premier research, design, and production opportunities 
12
for the University's high school students; the center will also 
13
provide a model of learner-centered technology education for 
14
our future educators; and

 
15
    WHEREAS, The Wroan Engineering and Technology Center will 
16
allow the University's high school students to investigate 
17
important technologies and their influence on society; design 
18
solutions for human problems, both small and large; produce 
19
accurate prototypes of engineering designs; and enhance the 
20
preparation of students for careers in engineering, 
21
technology, and related fields; and

    WHEREAS, John L. Wroan III serves as a model of hard work, 
2
integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of 
3
Illinois; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
6
that we honor John L. Wroan III for his dedicated service in 
7
providing resources to Illinois State University and 
8
congratulate him on the naming of the Wroan Engineering and 
9
Technology Center; and be it further

 
10
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11
presented to John L. Wroan III as a symbol of our esteem, 
12
respect, and gratitude.
