| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |

| Representatives are pleased to congratulate the staff of the |

| Village Voices newspaper on winning the award as the top small |
| 5 |
| newspaper in the State of Illinois at the Illinois Press |
| 6 |
| Associations Advertising Excellence Awards Ceremony; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, The Village Voices defeated 23 other small |
| 8 |
| newspapers for the top honor, the fourth consecutive year the |
| 9 |
| newspaper has won this award; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, The ad created for the Bocker Super Store earned |
| 11 |
| the Village Voices a first place award in Class B, beating out |
| 12 |
| larger newspapers for the honor; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, The Village Voices publisher is Dan Stevens; |
| 14 |
| therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |

| NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |

| congratulate the staff of the Village Voices for achieving this |
| 18 |
| honor; and be it further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |

| presented to Dan Stevens, publisher of the Village Voices, as a |
