HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Graham Morris of 
4
Lawrenceville on the occasion of being named as a member of the 
5
IHSA All State Academic Team; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, Graham Morris is a two-year National Honor Society 
7
honoree with a 3.9 GPA on a 4 point scale; he will graduate in 
8
the Top 5 of his senior class; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, Graham Morris achieved All-State honors in cross 
10
country three times during his career, placing 18th in the 
11
State as a sophomore and 7th as a junior; he placed 5th in the 
12
State as a senior, despite an injury, a case of bronchitis, and 
13
his own lack of conditioning due to the maladies, once again 
14
showing his commitment to excellence; he is also a member of 
15
his school's Scholastic Bowl, Student Council, BETA, 
16
Engineering Club, Spanish Club, Environthon, and marching 
17
band; and


 
18
    WHEREAS, Graham Morris is an Illinois State Scholar and a 
19
National Merit Scholar; he has won five first-place awards in 
20
Engineering & Design contests in the past two years; and

    WHEREAS, Graham Morris serves as a model of hard work,

integrity, and dedication for his fellow classmates and the 
2
people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
5
congratulate Graham Morris on the occasion of being named as a 
6
member of the IHSA All State Academic Team and wish him 
7
continued success and happiness in the future; and be it 
8
further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10
presented to Graham Morris as a symbol of our esteem and 
11
respect.
