| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The Chrysler assembly plant in Belvidere is the |
| 3 |
| most efficient plant in the United States; and
|
| 4 |
| WHEREAS, Chrysler has invested $420 million into the |
| 5 |
| Belvidere plant and the State of Illinois has invested $34 |
| 6 |
| million in infrastructure upgrades to the plant; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, The State of Illinois, together with the federal |
| 8 |
| government, should explore all possible methods to keep the |
| 9 |
| plant open and productive; therefore, be it
|
| 10 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 11 |
| NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 12 |
| urge the President of the United States and Congress to work |
| 13 |
| together with the State of Illinois to ensure the viability of |
| 14 |
| the Chrysler plant in Belvidere; and be it further
|
| 15 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 16 |
| presented to the President of the United States, the Speaker |
| 17 |
| and Minority Leader of the United States House of |
| 18 |
| Representatives, the Majority and Minority Leader of the United |
| 19 |
| States Senate, and the members of the Illinois congressional |
| 20 |
| delegation.
