HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate the citizens of the 
4
Village of Addison as they celebrate the 40th anniversary of 
5
the Addison Park District; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, The Addison Park District was formed in 1969, 
7
growing out of the Village of Addison Recreation Commission; 
8
and

 
9
    WHEREAS, Eight parks were deeded to the Addison Park 
10
District after its formation, consisting of approximately 50 
11
acres; currently, the Addison Park District has 24 parks with 
12
approximately 290 acres; the Park District consists of nine 
13
square miles, serving a population of 37,000 residents, 
14
employing 28 full-time, 15 part-time, and more than 250 
15
seasonal staff members; and

 
16
    WHEREAS, The mission statement of the Addison Park District 
17
is "To provide the highest quality recreational opportunities 
18
and open space for everyone"; and

    WHEREAS, The Addison Park District and its dedicated staff 
20
serves the needs of the community through a wide variety of 
21
programs and services for all ages; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3
congratulate the Addison community on this anniversary 
4
occasion and wish them the best as they celebrate in one of 
5
their many parks; and be it further

 
6
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7
presented to the staff of the Addison Park District as a symbol 
8
of our respect.
