HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Kaskaskia College Blue Angels Women's Basketball Team on its fourth place finish in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Basketball Tournament held in Salina, Kansas on March 17, 2009; and

WHEREAS, This was the first time in the history of Kaskaskia College that the women's basketball team has participated in the NJCAA Tournament; and

WHEREAS, Whitney Williams was named to the National Tournament All-Tourney Team, Co-Player of the Year, and Region 24 Tournament MVP; Takara Harris and Erica Lewis were named to the All-Tournament Team; Sad'a Ray was named to the All-Region and All Conference Team; and Kelly Albers was named to the All Conference Team; and

WHEREAS, The Blue Angels defeated Howard College and Conners State College to make it to the final four; they were defeated by Central Arizona College and Chipola College to finish in fourth place; and

WHEREAS, The Head Coach of the Blue Angels is Zach Loll; his team finished the season with a 27 win, 8 loss record and was ranked 17th nationally; and

WHEREAS, The Blue Angels are Kylee Williams, Keianna Evans, Takara Harris, Lindsey Davis, Leanne Randall, Whitney Williams, Normeka Holder, Erica Lewis, Sad'a Ray Raeford, Kelly Albers, Sharika Harris, and Beth Daugherty; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Blue Angels of Kaskaskia College and wish them the best in their future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Kaskaskia College Blue Angels Women's Basketball Team as a symbol of our respect.
