HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Donn Schaefer as he 
4
retires as President of the Metro East Landlords Association; 
5
and

 
6
    WHEREAS, All communities of the State of Illinois need 
7
good, clean, and affordable housing in all levels of society; 
8
and

 
9
    WHEREAS, Housing is a need for all members of our society; 
10
and

 
11
    WHEREAS, Donn Schaefer has served as President of the Metro 
12
East Landlords Association for fifteen years, from April of 
13
1994 to April of 2009; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, Metro East Landlords Association (now known as the 
15
Metro East Real Estate Investors Association) is a volunteer 
16
led non-profit educational organization devoted to the 
17
education, improvement, and ethical practices associated with 
18
all aspects of landlording and real estate investing; and
 
19
    WHEREAS, With foresight, integrity, perseverance, and 
20
selfless dedication during his fifteen year tenure as

president, Donn Schaefer has led the organization from a small 
2
group of ten members into being the largest real estate 
3
investment association in the State of Illinois, with now over 
4
550 members; he has been responsible for educating many people 
5
on the rights and responsibilities of ethical landlording and 
6
real estate investing; he has also actively and tirelessly 
7
championed the rights of both landlords and tenants, locally, 
8
regionally, and nationally; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
10
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
11
congratulate Donn Schaefer on his retirement as President of 
12
the Metro East Landlords Association and wish him the best in 
13
all his future endeavors; and be it further

 
14
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
15
presented to Donn Schaefer as a symbol of our respect.
