HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate the congregation 
4
of the First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton on the occasion of 
5
the church's 100th anniversary on April 20, 2009; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, The First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton was 
7
founded as the 100th congregation of the Chicago Presbytery on 
8
April 20, 1909; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, The First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton 
10
currently has over 1,500 members; the church is involved with 
11
missions locally, in the Chicagoland area, and throughout the 
12
world; and


 
13
    WHEREAS, The members of the First Presbyterian Church of 
14
Wheaton serve as  models of hard work, integrity, and dedication 
15
for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

 
16
    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
17
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
18
congratulate the members of the First Presbyterian Church of 
19
Wheaton on the occasion of the church's 100th anniversary and 
20
wish them continued success and happiness in their future 
21
endeavors; and be it further

presented to Dr. Paul Kirbas, pastor of the First Presbyterian
