HOUSE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Yaritsa Carrasco 
4
on her recent achievements; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Ms. Yaritsa Carrasco, 15 years of age, a sophomore 
6
at Benito Juarez High School, is currently active in  the memory 
7
bridge program (assisting senior citizens with Alzheimer's 
8
disease) basketball, swimming, and the book club; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, Ms. Carrasco competed in the Science Fair and took 
10
first place at Benito Juarez; she also competed in the History 
11
Fair and placed second, two points shy from going to the State 
12
finals; and

 
13
    WHEREAS, She dedicates her time assisting in tutoring 
14
fellow students in all subjects; she has been a member at the 
15
Union League Boys and Girls Club since 2006 and is involved in 
16
the Smart Girls, Keystone Club, Technology, Arts & Crafts, 
17
Dance, and Martial Arts programs; and

 
18
    WHEREAS, Yaritsa contributes her efforts and time to her 
19
fellow members and staff during special events, after school, 
20
and summer programming activities; and

    WHEREAS, Her goal is to obtain a master's degree in 
2
psychology from the University of Illinois in Urbana; 
3
therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6
congratulate Yaritsa Carrasco and wish her the best in her 
7
future endeavors; and be it further

 
8
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9
presented to Yaritsa Carrasco as a symbol of our respect and 
10
esteem.
