HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Lady Cougars of 
4
West Central High School on their second place finish in the 
5
Class lA State basketball tournament; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, The Lady Cougars had the most wins in school 
7
history in any sport; and

 
8
    WHEREAS, The Lady Cougars had the furthest advancement in a 
9
postseason tournament in school history; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, The Lady Cougars won the Western Illinois Valley 
11
Conference Title for the first time in school history; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, The Head Coach of the West Central Lady Cougars is 
13
Brian Bettis; the Assistant Coach is BJ Yelliott; and the team 
14
scorekeeper is Megan Carriger; and

 
15
    WHEREAS, The Lady Cougars are: seniors McKea Fisher and 
16
Keri Leitz; juniors Amanda Howard, Shelby Kirbach, Tomi White, 
17
Danielle Wade, and Kaleigh Evans; and sophomores Karlee 
18
VanDeVelde, Cassidy Kaufman, Rachel Ross, Ashlyn Jacquot, 
19
Tiffany King, Dakota Nicholson, Alex Schaad, and Andrea Lietz;

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we

congratulate the Head Coach, Assistant Coach, scorekeeper, and 
4
team members of the Lady Cougars Basketball Team on their 
5
winning season and wish them the best in their future 
6
endeavors; and be it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8
presented to the West Central Lady Cougars Team as a symbol of 
9
our respect and esteem.
