HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Bonnie Diamond on 
4
the occasion of winning the Gene Cramer ICARE for Reading Award 
5
from the Illinois Council for Affective Reading; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, The Gene Cramer ICARE for Reading Award honors 
7
outstanding educators who show concern for the affective domain 
8
of reading and strive to promote life-long reading habits among 
9
their students; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, Bonnie Diamond currently serves as a teacher at 
11
Tripp Elementary School in Buffalo Grove; she has taught 
12
classes for 29 years; and

 
13
    WHEREAS, Bonnie Diamond has devoted great amounts of time 
14
and effort to helping children learn to enjoy being independent 
15
readers through the introduction of important, language-rich 
16
literature and by asking the students to respond to it in 
17
meaningful and relevant ways; and

 
18
    WHEREAS, Bonnie Diamond will receive her award at the 
19
Illinois Reading Council State Conference, which takes place in 
20
March of 2009; and

    WHEREAS, Bonnie Diamond serves as a model of hard work, 
2
integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of 
3
Illinois; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6
congratulate Bonnie Diamond on the occasion of winning the Gene 
7
Cramer ICARE for Reading Award and wish her continued success 
8
and happiness in the future; and be it further

 
9
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10
presented to Bonnie Diamond as a symbol of our esteem and 
11
respect.
