HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The State of Illinois is facing the largest budget 
3
shortfall in its history; and

 
4
    WHEREAS, The previous gubernatorial administration had 
5
substantial travel expenses both in and out-of-state; 
6
therefore, be it

 
7
    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
8
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
9
urge the Governor to suspend all out-of-state travel for the 
10
remainder of fiscal year 2009; and be it further

 
11
    RESOLVED, That we urge the Governor to meet with agency 
12
directors to assess how much in-state travel could be reduced 
13
for the remainder of fiscal year 2009; and be it further
 
14
    RESOLVED, That we urge the Governor to meet with the 
15
Department of Central Management Services, Department of 
16
Revenue, and the Auditor General to determine what other 
17
expenses could be reduced for the remainder of fiscal year 
18
2009; and be it further
 
19
    RESOLVED, That we urge the Governor to consult with the 
20
Illinois Department of Transportation's Division of

Aeronautics to further limit the use of executive aircraft 
2
and/or explore the sale of said aircraft; and be it further
 
3
    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
4
delivered to the Office of the Governor, the Director of 
5
Central Management Services, the Director of Revenue, the 
6
Office of the Auditor General, and the Division of Aeronautics 
7
in the Department of Transportation.
