| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, During the Ninety-Fifth General Assembly, the | ||||||
| 3 | Special Investigative Committee was created pursuant to House | ||||||
| 4 | Resolution 1650 to investigate allegations of misfeasance, | ||||||
| 5 | malfeasance, nonfeasance, and other misconduct of Governor Rod | ||||||
| 6 | R. Blagojevich and to make a recommendation as to whether cause | ||||||
| 7 | exists for impeachment; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, The Special Investigative Committee filed its | ||||||
| 9 | Final Report (the "Final Report") with the House on January 8, | ||||||
| 10 | 2009 and created a record of its proceedings (the "Committee | ||||||
| 11 | Record"); and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, On January 9, 2009 the House adopted House | ||||||
| 13 | Resolution 1671 of the Ninety-Fifth General Assembly and | ||||||
| 14 | thereby impeached Governor Rod R. Blagojevich; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, The work of the Special Investigative Committee is | ||||||
| 16 | ongoing, and the Committee may be required to take further | ||||||
| 17 | evidence, in the form of testimony or documents or other | ||||||
| 18 | materials; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 19 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 20 | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 21 | the Special Investigative Committee created pursuant to House | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | Resolution 1650 of the Ninety-Fifth General Assembly is hereby | ||||||
| 2 | reconstituted; and be it further
| ||||||
| 3 | RESOLVED, That the Special Investigative Committee shall | ||||||
| 4 | be comprised of those persons appointed pursuant to House | ||||||
| 5 | Resolution 1650 of the Ninety-Fifth General Assembly, until | ||||||
| 6 | such time as the appointing authorities established in House | ||||||
| 7 | Resolution 1650 appoint different persons to the Special | ||||||
| 8 | Investigative Committee; and be it further
| ||||||
| 9 | RESOLVED, That the Special Investigative Committee shall | ||||||
| 10 | have the authority, duties, and purposes as set forth in House | ||||||
| 11 | Resolution 1650 of the Ninety-Fifth General Assembly, | ||||||
| 12 | including the purposes of investigating allegations of | ||||||
| 13 | misfeasance, malfeasance, nonfeasance, and other misconduct of | ||||||
| 14 | Governor Rod R. Blagojevich and making a recommendation as to | ||||||
| 15 | whether cause exists for impeachment, and shall further have | ||||||
| 16 | the authority and duty to refer any further evidence the | ||||||
| 17 | Committee may acquire to the House Prosecutor who is designated | ||||||
| 18 | to prosecute in the impeachment trial of Governor Rod R. | ||||||
| 19 | Blagojevich before the Illinois Senate; and be it further
| ||||||
| 20 | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be | ||||||
| 21 | delivered to the members of the Special Investigative Committee | ||||||
| 22 | and to the House Prosecutor.
