| AN ACT concerning government.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by |
| 5 |
| changing Section 50 as follows:
|
| 6 |
| (5 ILCS 490/50) (from Ch. 1, par. 3051-50)
|

| Sec. 50. Gold Star Mothers Day. The Governor shall annually |
| 8 |
| designate by
official proclamation the last second Sunday in |
| 9 |
| September August as Gold Star Mothers' Day
to be observed |
| 10 |
| throughout the State as a day to honor and commemorate for the |
| 11 |
| purpose of holding
appropriate ceremonies in commemoration of |
| 12 |
| the mothers of men and women who
gave their lives while serving |
| 13 |
| with the armed forces of the United States
in time of war or |
| 14 |
| during a period of hostilities.
