| AN ACT concerning local government.
|
| 2 |
| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by changing Section |
| 5 |
| 3-9001 as follows:
|
| 6 |
| (55 ILCS 5/3-9001) (from Ch. 34, par. 3-9001)

| Sec. 3-9001. Oath; bond. Before entering upon the
the |
| 8 |
| respective
duties of their office, the state's attorneys shall |
| 9 |
| each be commissioned by
the governor, and shall take the |
| 10 |
| following oath or affirmation: |
| 11 |
| I do solemnly swear (or affirm, as the case may be), that I |
| 12 |
| will support
the constitution of the United States and the |
| 13 |
| constitution of the state of
Illinois, and that I will |
| 14 |
| faithfully discharge the duties of the office
of state's |
| 15 |
| attorney according to the best of my ability.
|
| 16 |
| Each State's attorney shall also execute a bond, to the |
| 17 |
| People of the
State of Illinois, (or, if the county is |
| 18 |
| self-insured, the county through its
self-insurance program |
| 19 |
| may provide bonding) with good and sufficient
securities in the |
| 20 |
| penal sum of $5,000, to be approved by the circuit court for
|
| 21 |
| his respective county, which approval shall be indorsed upon |
| 22 |
| the bond. The
bond, with the approval thereof indorsed, shall |
| 23 |
| be entered of record in the
circuit court, and then forwarded |
