SENATE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3
learn of the death of
Loretta Tillman Palm of Chicago, who 
4
passed away on December 17, 2008; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Loretta Tillman Palm was born on September 14, 
6
1935 in Chicago; relying on faith her entire life, she 
7
professed her love in Christ at an early age and was baptized 
8
by the late Rev. Dr. Richard C. Keller at the Beth Eden Baptist 
9
Church; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, Loretta Tillman Palm was one of the founding 
11
members of the Wooten Choral Ensemble; utilizing her nurse 
12
training, she was a long-time member of the nurses' board; she 
13
was also a member of the National United Church Ushers 
14
Association of America, Inc.; and

 
15
    WHEREAS, Loretta Tillman Palm received her formal 
16
education from the John D. Shoop School and Morgan Park High 
17
School; she then received her certificate of completion from 
18
the Illinois School of Nursing to become a Licensed Practical 
19
Nurse; and

 
20
    WHEREAS, Loretta Tillman Palm met and married the late 
21
LeRoy Palm; together, they had eight children; and

    WHEREAS, Loretta Tillman Palm will be remembered by all who 
2
knew and loved her as a loving, caring, and warm person who 
3
refused to judge others and always  found the good in people; 
4
therefore, be it

 
5
    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
6
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
7
her family and friends, the passing of Loretta Tillman Palm; 
8
and be it further

 
9
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10
presented to the family of Loretta Tillman Palm as an 
11
expression of our sympathy.
