| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of
John L. Robison of Waukegan, who passed |
| 4 |
| away on October 28, 2008; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, John Robison was born in Waukegan on January 22, |
| 6 |
| 1932; his parents were Carl F. and Phyllis F. Robison; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, John Robison served his country with pride and |
| 8 |
| distinction as a member of the United States Army during the |
| 9 |
| Korean War, when he fought in the battle of Pork Chop Hill; he |
| 10 |
| was a member of the Waukegan American Legion #281 and was |
| 11 |
| active in helping to bring attention to this "forgotten" war; |
| 12 |
| he was instrumental in having Glen Flora Avenue in Waukegan |
| 13 |
| proclaimed the Korean War Memorial Drive; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, John Robison graduated from Waukegan Township |
| 15 |
| High School; he was employed with and retired from the City of |
| 16 |
| Waukegan; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, John Robison enjoyed watching baseball, |
| 18 |
| especially his St. Louis Cardinals, bowling, and fishing; his |
| 19 |
| summers were spent in relaxation at his home in Crivitz, |
| 20 |
| Wisconsin; and |
|
|

| WHEREAS, John Robison was preceded in death by his adored |
| 2 |
| wife of 51 years, Norma (nee Tennyson); his parents, Carl F. |
| 3 |
| and Phyllis F. (nee Gargone) Robison; his maternal and paternal |
| 4 |
| grandparents; and his precious aunts and uncles, Rocco and Mary |
| 5 |
| DeBennette, Russell and Frances Snider, Sadie Gargone, Philip |
| 6 |
| and Raemonda Mayer, and Genvieve Kerley; and |
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, John Robison was a devoted and loving husband to |
| 8 |
| his late wife; loving father to his two sons, Gary S. (Leslie) |
| 9 |
| and David C. Robison; grandfather to Sarah (Brad) Kutzler; and |
| 10 |
| a great-grandfather to Stacie, Alyssa, and MacKenzie Kutzler; |
| 11 |
| his memory will always be cherished by his twin sister, Joan L. |
| 12 |
| Robison; his brother, Carl (Phyllis) Robison; his special |
| 13 |
| cousins, Russell (Ilona) Snider, Joseph (Nancy) DeBennette, |
| 14 |
| Judy Camarato, and Philip (Kathy) Meyer; his many friends, |
| 15 |
| especially Melvin and Lorie Hutchinson; his many nieces and |
| 16 |
| nephews; and his wonderful extended family of sisters and |
| 17 |
| brothers-in-law, Dorothy Girdley, Louise (Stanley) Gamble, |
| 18 |
| Barbara Tennyson, Marilyn (Donald) Arnold, Joyce Tennyson, |
| 19 |
| Otto (Norma) Tennyson, Neil (Gladys) Tennyson, John (Carol) |
| 20 |
| Tennyson, and Tim (Mary) Tennyson; and his special friend and |
| 21 |
| uncle, Donald Kerley; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL |
