SENATE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3
learn of the death of Carl V. Miller of Grayslake, who passed 
4
away on October 4, 2008; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, He was born in Bloomington to the late Carl J. and 
6
Jenny Miller on April 13, 1925; and

 
7
    WHEREAS, He served in the United States Army during World 
8
War II under General George Patton; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, He was a graduate of Illinois State University, 
10
graduating in 1951; he served as an educator at Grayslake High 
11
School for over 40 years, teaching math, chemistry, and serving 
12
in the guidance department; he coached football, basketball, 
13
and baseball, but loved to coach track;   and

 
14
    WHEREAS, He was on the Grayslake Village Planning 
15
Commission and Zoning Board for over 40 years, as well as being 
16
a past member of the St. Gilbert's school board; and

 
17
    WHEREAS, Carl Miller is survived by his wife, Vivian; his 
18
children, Joanne (Charles) Pinto, Gary (Terri) Miller, and 
19
Terry (Kerry) Miller; his grandchildren, Ross, Carter, Marcus, 
20
Madison, Connor, and Trenton Miller; as well as several nieces

and nephews; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
3
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
4
his family and friends, the passing of Carl V. Miller; and be 
5
it further

 
6
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7
presented to the family of Carl V. Miller as a symbol of our 
8
sincere sympathy.
