SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3
learn of the death of Betty Lou Morris of Collinsville, who 
4
passed away on August 24, 2008; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, She was born on October 26, 1925 in Flora, the 
6
daughter of Lossie Morris and Pauline (McCaulley) Morris; and

 
7
    WHEREAS, She retired from the Morris Agency in 
8
Collinsville; she was a member of the Collinsville Library 
9
Board for 25 years and also served on the Lewis and Clark 
10
Library Board; and

 
11
    WHEREAS, She attended William Woods College in Fulton, 
12
Missouri, the St. Louis Institute of Music, and Southern 
13
Illinois University in Edwardsville; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; and

 
15
    WHEREAS, Betty Lou Morris is survived by her daughter, 
16
Cyndi Presson; her son, Jonathan "Chris" Jukes; her 
17
grandchildren, Patrick (Rebecca) Presson, Ryan (Sarah) 
18
Presson, Jonathan Jukes II Huggins, and Jason Gerald Jukes 
19
Huggins; her two  great-grandchildren; her sisters, Jean Bauer 
20
and Pamela (Gary) Klein; and her brothers, Charles (Nancy)

    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
3
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
4
her family and friends, the passing of Betty Lou Morris; and be 
5
it further

 
6
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7
presented to the family of Betty Lou Morris as a symbol of our 
8
sincere sympathy.
