SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Justin Lee Smith of Chatham, formerly of New Berlin, who passed away on August 17, 2008; and

WHEREAS, Justin L. Smith was born on June 25, 1984 in Springfield; he was the son of Fred Smith and Patricia Galloway; and

WHEREAS, Justin L. Smith was a graduate of New Berlin High School; he attended Universal Technical Institute and was an ASE certified mechanic, putting his talents to use as a mechanic for Drake Scruggs; and

WHEREAS, Justin L. Smith was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Auburn; he enjoyed music, camping, fishing, being outdoors, flying model airplanes, working on cars, and riding his motorcycle; his favorite pastime, however, was spending time with his daughter, Lilly; and

WHEREAS, Justin L. Smith is survived by his mother, Patti (husband, John) O'Dell; his father, Fred Smith; his daughter, Lilly Smith; his grandparents, Don and Joni Galloway, Carl and Judy Aufrecht, and Steve and Bev Smith; his great-grandmother, Evelyn Aufrecht; his sister, Tara O'Dell; his brother, Michael Smith; his several aunts and uncles; and his several cousins and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Justin L. Smith; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Justin L. Smith as an expression of our sympathy.
