SENATE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3
learn of the death of
John Sternisha, who passed away on June 
4
12, 2008; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, John Sternisha was born in Joliet; he served his 
6
country with bravery and distinction as a member of the United 
7
States Marine Corps; and

 
8
    WHEREAS, John Sternisha retired from  of the Maywood Proviso 
9
State Bank as the bank's Vice President and Trust Officer; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, John Sternisha was a member of the Old Timer's 
11
Baseball and coached for several years at Troy baseball fields; 
12
he also enjoyed gardening; and

 
13
    WHEREAS, John Sternisha was preceded in death by his 
14
parents, Frank J. and Anna Fojut (nee Galajdik) Sternisha, and 
15
his brothers, Joseph (Pearl) Fojut and Frank E. (Judith) 
16
Sternisha; and

 
17
    WHEREAS, John Sternisha is survived by his wife, Linda K. 
18
(nee Powell); his children, Kelly, Erik, and Alan; his 
19
granddaughter, Caitlin; his siblings, Alice (the late Joseph) 
20
Valek, Ann (Robert) Mulvey, Theresa (the late Norm) Wittkofski,

Michael (Marilyn), Joseph, George (Maryann), Walter

(Sherrill), and Pauline (Alan) Mihelich; and his numerous 
3
nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
5
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
6
his family and friends, the passing of John Sternisha; and be 
7
it further

 
8
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9
presented to the family of John Sternisha as an expression of 
10
our sympathy.
